“I approached the Graduate Writing Center Fall 2016 because I needed help with my thesis. I was looking for someone who would not only help with formatting, brainstorming, and grammar, but also help shape my thesis argument so that I could present a well thought out research proposal. I met with several graduate students at the Writing Center, but none were a great fit until I met with Tricia. Tricia represented the Writing Center professionally, helped me edit my writing, and gave me the confidence and skills needed to complete my thesis draft. She broke down my argument and helped me format my outline to make my argument even stronger. She took the time to understand my thesis topic so she could provide more effective and efficient services. One thing I really like about Tricia is that she is generally interested in understanding research proposals that are outside of her field of study. For example, she asks questions to better understand my specific area of study (applied behavior analysis) and makes recommendations so I could research and possibly add a different perspective to my literature review. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for help at the beginning, middle, or end of his or her writing process. She will problem solve with you and guide your writing towards your ultimate goal.”
